A high-profile Hong Kong fertility clinic has admitted that it implanted two embryos into the wrong woman.A high-profile Hong Kong fertility clinic
has admitted that it implanted two embryos into the wrong woman. However, the
government’s Council on Human Reproductive Technology decided not to take
action against the Victory ART Laboratory, as it was due to human error not
systemic failings. The clinic had discovered the error quickly and the embryos
had been removed and discarded. The woman to whom the embryos belonged as well
as the woman in whom they were implanted have received counselling and have
been offered compensation, the clinic told local media. The company also has
clinics in the Philippines and Malaysia. ~ BBC News, Jul 18
