Single and with no children of her own, Miss Hawkins spent most of that pregnancy on sick leave and was bedridden for days at a time with headaches and nausea. After she gave birth to the baby boy, she vowed to her parents that he would be her last. But she said that despite the potentially “life threatening” consequences of her last pregnancy, she had now “forgotten about the terrible bits”.

She told the Daily Mail: “I just decided to go for it again… I find being pregnant very fulfilling. I’m a naturally giving person and to be able to give babies away is what I do.” Her first 7 babies were conceived via artificial insemination using the father’s sperm, but she is now unable to conceive naturally and now uses IVF. ~ London Telegraph, Feb 27
